Supporting language, communication and social communication skills in autism spectrum.

Communication is one of the main areas where autistic children need support. Some do not speak at all; others speak well but find back-and-forth conversation difficult.

Signs to watch for

  • Limited eye contact, pointing and joint attention
  • Delayed or absent speech
  • Echolalia (repeating heard phrases)
  • Difficulty starting and maintaining conversations

Our approach

Therapy builds joint attention and imitation, communicative intent, augmentative and alternative communication such as picture exchange, vocabulary and sentences, and social communication skills, in close cooperation with families and schools.
