Improving quality of life through processing and integrating sensory information.

Sensory integration is the brain's ability to organise information from touch, movement, balance, sound and sight. Children who struggle with this may be overwhelmed by everyday sensations or constantly seek movement.

Signs to watch for

  • Strong reactions to noise, clothing, haircuts or crowds
  • Constant jumping, spinning or crashing
  • Fear of swings or poor balance and coordination
  • Difficulty sitting still and paying attention

Our approach

Our occupational therapists assess the tactile, vestibular and proprioceptive systems and provide structured, play-based sessions using swings, balance equipment and tactile activities, together with a personalised sensory diet for home and school.
