Therapy for correct use of the voice and vocal hygiene when voice is hoarse, strained or unstable.

A voice disorder is a change in pitch, loudness or voice quality that affects daily life, such as hoarseness, a breathy or strained voice, or losing the voice. It is common among teachers, singers and others who use their voice heavily.

Signs to watch for

  • Hoarseness lasting more than 2–3 weeks
  • Voice tiring or weakening during the day
  • Pain or tightness in the throat when speaking
  • Vocal nodules, polyps or vocal cord paralysis diagnosed by an ENT doctor

Our approach

After an ENT examination, we provide voice therapy covering breath support, relaxed voice production, resonance exercises and vocal hygiene. Therapy is also used before and after vocal cord surgery and for children with hoarse voices.
